President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced that diplomats will prepare a new resolution on Crimea for the next session of the UN General Assembly. He stated this on the air of ICTV channel.
"I instructed our diplomats at the next session of the UN General Assembly to prepare a new resolution of on Crimea in order to stop any insinuations, any speculation about the status of the Crimea," Poroshenko said.
He reminded that the General Assembly had twice supported the Ukrainian position, including in regard of the Crimean Tatars rights violation in Crimea.
"I have no doubt that our work will be effective here, and we must provide daily work to protect the national interest," he added.
As it was reported earlier, Russian president Vladimir Putin claimed at Monday meeting that USPresident Donald Trump adheres to the position of illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian side.
The Trump’s position about Crimea is known, he adheres to it. He speaks of illegal annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation. We have a different point of view on this. We think that we have undertaken the referendum in strict compliance with the international law of the United Nations Charter. For us, for the Russian Federation, this matter is closed. That’s it,’ he said.
