Poroshenko held meeting with Lagarde in Davos

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Managing Director of the IMF Christine Lagarde held a meeting in the framework of the 48th annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos. They told about the results of the meeting in a press conference. 

“I’ve just had a very pleasant meeting with President Poroshenko. It gave us an opportunity to discuss all measures that are taken. We talked about choosing the head of the bank - Ukraine really needs this,” Lagarde said.

In his turn, the president of Ukraine thanked the IMF Managing Director for “very effective cooperation over the past year”.

“Now we are working on reforms. We have many reforms in cooperation with the IMF. In the last six months, we’ve presented a long list of reforms and we will continue the effective Cooperation in different spheres and fulfill what we’ve agreed upon today and before that. I hope for a long and effective cooperation. It’s important that we continue such cooperation now, in 2018,” Poroshenko said.
