Ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will allocate the missing amount from personal funds for a pledge to the head of the Main Directorate of Development and Support of Material Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Marchenko, who appears in the case for the purchase of defective body armor. The page FreeMarchenko on Facebook reports.
“We decided to raise money for legal assistance. You transferred from several hundred hryvnias to tens of thousands. As of the evening, you have provided almost one and a half million hryvnias. More than two thousand citizens donated money. Thanks to everyone. But one million is definitely less than 20. On Monday evening it became known that another citizen contributed - Petro Poroshenko added to the collected funds ... all that was missing was 19 million hryvnias. Fundraising completed. We have 20 million hryvnias," - the report said.
The community called the case trumped up and believe that for Marchenko $850 thousand is too much.
As we reported, Holding in custody or $3,000,000 bail - such preventative measures were chosen for the Major-General of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine who is suspected in the criminal proceeding relating to the acquisition of defective armored vests for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
