Within the meeting with the ministers Sven Mikser from Estonia, Saulius Skvernelis from Lithuania and Jacek Czaputowicz from Poland Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko noted the need to enhance a consolidated pressure upon Russia, as the President’s Administration reported.
“The necessity to enhance a consolidated international pressure upon Russia with a demand to immediately release the Ukrainian sailors, return captured vessels and provide freedom of navigation in Azov and Black Sea,” the message says.
Besides, it was added that the parties have discussed the situation in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea and existing threats Russia poses given its aggressive behavior in November 2018.
The Head of Ukraine informed the minister about the situation in Donbas and Russia violating Minsk Agreements, and about ceasefire as well.
He thanked Estonia, Lithuania, and Poland for their support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for condemnation of Russia’s aggressive behavior.
In addition, Poroshenko expressed appreciation for progress in the introduction of a new EU sanctions package against Russia for aggression in the Sea of Azov.
He hopes that the European Commission and the EU member states would provide more support for Donbas and Ukraine’s Pryazovia, which suffer from Russia’s continuous aggression.
“The Head of the State valued the EU’s decision to send an assessment mission to explore additional social and economic needs in the region,” the message reads.
