Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko hopes for the decision of the European Union to extend sanctions against Russia before March 20. He said on his Twitter page.

"I am hoping for a meaningful resolution by the European Parliament and EU’s decision to extend sanctions against Russia for Crimean occupation next week," he wrote.

At the same time, Poroshenko noted that the European Parliament will discuss situation regarding Crimea and Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia on March 16.

As it was reported earlier, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe passed the resolution, which decisively condemns the Russian terrorist activity in Ukraine.
