Poroshenko dismissed Foreign Intelligence Service First Deputy Head

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he dismissed Serhiy Semochko from the post of the Foreign Intelligence Service First Deputy Head on April 12. He said this speaking to journalists at the NSC Olimpiysky, 112 Ukraine reported.

"On Friday, the First Deputy Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Mr. Semochko, was dismissed from his post," he noted.

The president promised to dismiss Semochko from this position on April 6.

We recall that in October 2018, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau opened criminal proceedings on the fact of illegal enrichment of the former head of the Security Service Main Directorate in Kyiv region, First Deputy Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Serhiy Semochko.

A journalist investigation revealed that Semtchko has relatives with Russian passports, real estate worth more than UAH 200 million (USD 7,1 million) and business in Crimea, and he also drives Toyota Land Cruiser 200 SUV, registered for a person who does not exists.

In March 2019, Semochko's case was closed based on the decision of the Constitutional Court, which canceled the criminal responsibility for the illicit enrichment.
