Poroshenko discusses modernization of gas transportation system with Engie Director General

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held the meeting with Director General of French Energy Group Engie Isabelle Kocher. Particularly, the sides discussed the modernization of the gas storages of the gas transportation system of Ukraine (GTS) as the press service of the presidential administration reported.

Engine Group is the largest European supplier of the gas for the Ukrainians.

'The perspectives of the participation of the French side in the projects of the modernization of the gas storages and GTS of Ukraine and the building of the objects of the solar energy were discussed during the meeting', the message said.

The president noted the productive development of the political dialogue between France and Ukraine that effectively further the activation of the bilateral economic and investment cooperation.

Petro Poroshenko expressed the hope that the future cooperation with Engie will provide the strengthening of the energy security of Ukraine, transit potential of our country and cooperation between Ukraine and France against the climate change and preservation of the environment.

Director General of Engie confirmed the interest to participate in the National Investment Council.

As it was reported the French Engie Company started to supply gas to Ukraine since January 1, 2017. Engie Company signed the agreement with 'Ukrtransgaz' in October 2016 and got the possibility to store gas at the Ukrainian storages.
