Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko discussed further sanction policy against Russia with US leadership during the visit to Washington, including increased pressure on Moscow. He said this during the briefing in Washington, broadcast by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"There was a very long, very informative talk with Mr. President, where the emphasis was made on two critically important things. First one — US support of sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of our state, support for Ukraine in counteracting Russian aggression. Concrete plans were discussed, which provide for preservation, and sometimes the strengthening of sanctions regime against Russian Federation, until the full implementation of the Minsk Agreements. I think that this is extremely important, and it is not by chance that the new sanctions were imposed during the visit of Ukrainian delegation to the United States," he noted.
