Petro Poroshenko, Ukraine’s President, had a phone conversation with Andrej Kiska, the President of Slovakia. The Presidents discussed the preparation to the NATO summit, which is to be held in Brussels in June, as the President’s Administration reported.
“They emphasized the importance of restoration of the intergovernmental mixed commission on economic, industrial and scientific-technical cooperation, the next meeting of which is scheduled for June 2018,” the message says.
The interlocutors discussed the relevant issues of the bilateral agenda and positively noted the dynamics of political relationships between Ukraine and Slovakia.
As previously reported, Hungary vetoed a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission in Brussels at the level of foreign ministers, which was to take place this week. Earlier, Hungary blocked a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission, which was to be held on February 14-15, and before that - the convening of it in December 2017.
Hungary stated that it would not support Ukraine's rapprochement with Europe until the law on education was repealed.
