Former President of Ukraine and now Ukrainian MP Petro Poroshenko got infected with the coronavirus. He reported the positive result of the test on the Telegram channel.

"I got a positive test result for Covid. It's a bad time. I'm so sorry I'm forced to suspend my travels across the regions [of Ukraine]. Over the last six years, I got used to overcoming diseases, staying out of bed. But this one is more obnoxious, much more back-stabbing. So, starting from today, I'm being treated at home. I hope for a speedy recovery, urging all Ukrainians to take care of themselves!" reads the message.

Poroshenko is now in self-isolation.

Earlier, we reported that candidate for Kyiv mayor's office Boryslav Bereza got sick, too. The repeated PCR test proved that he has coronavirus. Bereza posted this on Facebook.

"Troubled breath, cough, and crepitation in the upper chest urged my doctor to recommend that I run a repeated PCR test. And it confirmed that I have "corona", reads the message.

According to the politician, he only recently received the results of the repeated analysis. The kids did not get sick. Bereza added that the family will be staying on self-isolation for 14 days. He also reported the news about his analysis results on the Facebook page of his political force, EcoParty. The politician urged fellow citizens to abide by recommendations of the Healthcare Ministry.
