On Saturday, April 29, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the decree on terminating citizenship of MP Andriy Artemenko, who earlier handed Michael Flynn, former adviser of Donald Trump, the plan to normalize relations between Ukraine and Russia. Oleh Lyashko, Radical Party leader, reported this on Facebook.
According to him, Artemenko was deprived of citizenship "due to his voluntary acquisition of Canadian nationality in 2005".
"This is the unique and first case during Ukraine’s independence in 26 years, when government official answered for the violation of Ukrainian Constitution, which provides for one thing only — Ukrainian! citizenship. Artemenko and his defenders will scream that Ukrainian Constitution prohibits the deprivation of citizenship. Depriving — yes, but it does not prohibit terminating it!" Lyashko noted.
"We will now demand the parliament for early deprivation of Artemenko’s deputy mandate on plenary session on May 16," MP stressed.
Lyashko also added that, according to his information, Artemenko departed to Vienna on Saturday morning and expressed hope that the deputy will surrender his Ukrainian passport on his return.
As it was reported earlier, Ukrainian MP Andriy Artemenko took the role of "savior" in the Ukrainian-American relations and invented the peace plan between Russia and Ukraine, which includes the removal of sanctions from Russia. This plan he allegedly gave to Cohen, who left the paper on the table of the National Security Advisor Flynn.
He suggested the withdrawal of Russian troops from the east of Ukraine and conducting a nationwide referendum to submit Crimea to Russia for lease by 50 or 100 years.
