Poroshenko decrees to hold military parade in Kyiv on Independence Day

The decree also provides the commemoration of the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine

Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on the celebration of the 27th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine, which provides a military parade in Kyiv on Khreshchatyk on August 24.

This was reported on the website of the President’s Administration.

The troops’ parade is to be held on Khreshchatyk Street and on the Independence Square in Kyiv on August 24, the Independence Day of Ukraine. The decree also provides the conduction of the thematic festive, scientific, informational, educational, patriotic and educational events in Ukraine and outside of it, along with the prayers for Ukraine.

An official ceremony of the solemn raise of the National Flag of Ukraine and other events aimed at the development of respect for Ukraine’s State Symbols are to be held in Kyiv, other cities and foreign Ukraine’s diplomatic institutions on August 23, the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine.

The Government is responsible for the formation of the Organizing Committee on the preparation and commemoration of the anniversary of the independence, and for the development and provision of the implementation of the events’ plan on the preparation and commemoration of the 27th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence and the 100th anniversary of the revival of Ukraine’s nationhood.

According to the decree the central and local public authorities have to develop and implement the regional plans for the preparation and commemoration of the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine, the 27th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence and the 100th anniversary of the revival of Ukraine’s nationhood.
