Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko declared the national mourning due to tragedy that occurred on Lviv mine today. He has signed the according decree.
According to the decree #52/2017 "On declaring mourning day in Ukraine" in connection with the deaths of miners at OJSC LvivVugillya, March 3 is declared a mourning day. A minute of silence will be observed to honor dead miners at 12 noon.
The Ukrainian Flag on all government buildings will be half-mast. All recreational activities as well as TV and Radio programs should be accordingly changed, according to the message.
At the same time, Petro Poroshenko ordered to check all mines due to the tragedy in Lviv region. He instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to carry out necessary inspections of all coal-mining enterprises regarding their accordance to safety standards.
Earlier today Lviv prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case due to this occasion.
