Switzerland froze the assets of Viktor Yanukovych in the sum of more than 69 million dollars in 2014 for three years. The former president Yanukovych and Olexandr Yanukovych claimed that they do not have any bank accounts, funds or other assets in Switzerland. British law firm JOSEPH HAGE AARONSON LLP that acts for Yanukovych sent a letter to the Swiss authorities with the request to recall or specify this statement that determines that the frozen assets in the sum of 70 million Swiss Francs are possessed by Viktor or Olexandr Yanukovych and that it does not correspond to the reality. Switzerland extended the freeze of the assets of Yanukovych for one more year on December 20, 2017.
