Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko approve the Annual National Programme under the aegis of Commission Ukraine – NATO for 2018. This was reported on the State’s website.

“The Annual National Programme is to provide the fulfillment of the priority tasks of the cooperation between Ukraine and NATO and the relevant decisions made at the session of Ukraine – NATO Commission at the level of Heads of States and Governments on July 9, 2016 in Warsaw (Poland) and other significant agreements with NATO,” the message says.

The strategy determines the priority tasks for 2018 and medium-term objectives, which are to be achieved till 2020.

The document also defines the relevant practical measures within the implementation of Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration policy, reforming of the security sector and state’s defense under the standards and recommendations of the Alliance.

The programme is oriented to the attraction and usage of the opportunities along with the practical, advisory and consultative NATO’s and its member states’ assistance to enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities in the conditions of Russian armed aggression, and the introduction of goal-oriented and systematic activities to prepare the state to NATO membership.

The Cabinet of Ministers is responsible for the coordination of work on the implementation of the Annual National Programme.
