President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will hold a number of important meetings with the US leaders during his working visit to the Washington. He said this during his meeting with the Ukrainian community, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"We will have a fantastic program, it is very important that my meeting as a Ukrainian president in the White House will be earlier than Putin's meeting, so that everyone is armed with information and so that no one is left a chance for injustice," the president said.
During the visit Poroshenko will hold a meeting with US President Donald Trump, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, as well as the high officials of the US Department of Defense, Trade and Energy.
"There has never been such a powerful visit, it is important for us to have an opportunity to talk about our cooperation in the spheres of security, politics and economy," Poroshenko said.
On Tuesday morning, June 20, the President of Ukraine will meet with US Vice President Mike Pence, after which he will hold talks with Trump. In addition, on the same day, the head of Ukrainian state will hold talks with Defense Minister James Mettis, the International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde and World Bank President Jim Yong Kim.
It is expected that after negotiations with Trump, Poroshenko will talk with the media.
Earlier it was reported that Poroshenko will meet with Ukrainian community and Trump in US. Meeting with Trump is planned for June 20 evening.
