According to the lawyer, the taxi driver was beaten at the police station for false testimony. In fact, he did not pick up Polyakov at the bus stop; the deceased lawmaker was transferred to him from another car.
“He testified. He did not know and could not know, they used something or did not use it. He lied that he picked him up at a transport stop, but in fact, he was given a lift from another car and asked to take him home. This is it. At first, he decided not to involve other people, so he said that he took him from the bus stop and drove him. So the guys punished him. But there are no traces, the examination will not show it," the lawyer says.
It is also known that the taxi driver was stopped by the police for crossing a double line. The lawyer explained that the taxi driver violated the traffic rules, as Polyakov felt bad, he had seizures, and the driver decided to promptly take him to the hospital.
