The deceased lawmaker Anton Polyakov was not an accidental taxi passenger. The taxi driver for some time followed the car in which the lawmaker was previously transported as Ukraine 24 TV channel reported citing Spokesperson of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko.
"He said he picked up a passenger by accident. In fact, he did not accidentally pick up this passenger; he followed for a while, drove behind the car with our passenger-victim, who for some time traveled around the city with another witness,” Shevchenko said.
He noted that he cannot disclose the testimony of all persons.
"The only thing I can say is that there are no suspicions yet. If the investigation considers in total that it is possible to come out on some suspicion to someone, then the police in Kyiv will inform about it very quickly,” Shevchenko stated.
He also added that the investigation has already identified all the persons with whom Polyakov contacted that night.
On October 8, Anton Polyakov, the Ukrainian MP was found dead in Kyiv. The law enforcers have opened the criminal case due to the intentional homicide. Later, the law enforcers reported that a few versions are considered on the case of Polyakov’s murder, including the poisoning.
