The US National Guard officers were on a sightseeing trip to Lviv, when they saw a fire in one of the houses

On August 24, Ukraine's Independence Day, Minister of Defense Stepan Poltorak awarded six US National Guard of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team officers, who evacuated people from burning house in Lviv.

“American soldiers Kellar Jackson, Nelson Deese, Aaron Moore, Matthew Odom, Vincent Humerickhouse, and Kevin Polk were awarded with Honorary Badges for personal bravery, courage, selfless efforts during an emergency, exemplary performance of military duties, and high professionalism,” the message of the Ministry of Defense informs.

This July the officers, who participate in the Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine were on a sightseeing trip to Lviv. In the city center, they saw heavy smoke over one of the houses, so they rushed into the house to help evacuate the inhabitants before the firefighters came.
