Crimean Tatar Edem Bekirov accused of alleged illegal preservation of ammunition and explosion in Crimea was taken from prison to the 6th city hospital of Simferopol for medical examination, which lasted for 30 minutes, as his lawyer Islyam Velilyayev said, Crimea.Realii reported.
“He undertook cardiogram, he was kept for 30 minutes in the cardiac office of the 6th city hospital of Simferopol and taken back to the prison’s hospital,” Velyayev said.
According to the lawyer, the administration of detention facility reacted to the decision of the European Court of Human Rights as of June 11, which obliged Russian authorities to put Bekirov in the hospital immediately.
“Probably, it was a doctor’s advice which resulted in a conclusion that he is healthy as a horse and can stay in custody in prison’s medical inspector. He probably needs a formal medical conclusion for response in the ECHR,” Velilyayev said.
He also added that another Berkirov’s lawyer Oleksiy Ladyn wants to visit him on June 20.
Earlier, the representatives of the U.S. Embassy expressed concern due to the decision of Russia-controlled court on prolongation of Bekirov’s arrest.
