Polish cheeses imported to Ukraine turned out 100% counterfeit upon check. This was reported on the website of the State Service for Consumer Protection.

The department complains that importers, including European ones, are massively selling unmarketable goods in the Ukrainian market.

"Ukrainians mentally perceive import product as high quality, but in reality Polish cheeses were found 100% fake. All products in different percentage contained fats of non-dairy origin. There was no accompanying documentation: neither the passport of quality, nor the customs declaration, nor the waybill. It is smuggling. Why the products illegally get into our market, this is a question for the Security Service, "said Maxym Honchar, the board chairman of public organization “All-Ukrainian Association on consumer protection “Consumer confidence”.

Almost 50% of Ukrainian products are found counterfeit every year and it increases, Honchar added.

Since April, food manufacturers will be checked without warning.

At the moment, a moratorium is imposed on business checks. The opportunity to check the enterprise appears when the products harm consumer. Such verification should be coordinated by the Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Agrarian Policy. In practice, it takes 5 months to consider the complaint and until inspectors' actual visit to production site.

As it was reported earlier the export of products and services from Ukraine increased by 6 billion dollars during nine months and equaled 38.1 billion dollars in comparison with the same period of time in 2016.
