Next week, officers of the National Police will be working with the State Fiscal Service at the checkpoints to prevent smuggling, as Myroslav Prodan, the Acting Chairman of the State Fiscal Service, wrote on Facebook.
“Starting from the next week, the National Police will be working at the checkpoint and along with the customs officers will be doing the analytic work concerning the risk-related groups of goods,” he said.
According to Prodan, the police’s help is important as smuggling can cross any parts of the border and the customs officers are working only at the checkpoints.
“The National Police has the power to take measures on struggling against smuggling not only at the checkpoints but throughout entire Ukraine’s customs territory,” he noted.
Besides, Prodan refuted information about the increase of time for cargo execution.
“I would like to reassure you: all the events regard the violators only and it will not damage the external economic activity of the business which works within the legislation,” Prodan wrote.
