The police told about details of the shootout that occurred yesterday between pro-Russian Valentyn Doroshenko and police officers, according to the Head of the National Police in Odesa region Dmytro Holovin.
“We’ve established that before the detention of the wanted citizen, there was a big conflict between Doroshenko and his acquaintance. An investigative operative group of three people went on the reported site. When they came, they established visual contact with the suspected citizen Doroshenko and tried to check his documents. According to the preliminary information, Doroshenko pulled out an automatic firearm, and started shooting at the police officers,” he said.
After this, the shootout started. Paramedics and a taxi driver, who arrived on site, tried to help the wounded police officer.
Doroshenko’s acquaintance, with whom he had a conflict, was also firing shots, and he killed Doroshenko and shot at the already wounded police officers.
As it was reported earlier, a malefactor shot dead his associate, wounded three police officers and a taxi driver during the attempt of detention in Odesa. As a result of the shootout, three people died and three others were injured. Among the injured, there were two law enforcers and one witness.
