Police released Valeriy Lyudmyrskyi, the official of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways), who was kidnapped 8 months ago. This was reported by Ukrainian Internal Minister Arsen Avakov on his Facebook page.

Two defendants in the case were detained, according to him.

"As a result of many months of difficult and diligent investigation work police of Kyiv region executed a brilliant operation and released Valeriy Lyudmirsky, who was kidnapped on July 18, 2016. Two defendants in the case were detained, hiding bunker for hostages was established, weapons and explosives were seized. Searches for the organizer and mastermind of the crime are being undertaken," Avakov wrote.

Lyudmirsky himself reported that he was beaten only during the kidnapping.

Citizen of Russia (Dagestani) and citizen of Ukraine were detained on suspicion of crime.
