
The police registered 97 claims and messages concerning violations of the electoral process during the campaign silence on April 20. Speaker of the National Police Yaroslav Trakalo stated this, broadcasted by 112.Ukraine.
“97 claims and messages concerning the electoral process were registered as of 2:30 PM. Generally, those violations are illegal agitation and vote-buying attempts. One criminal proceeding has been launched, five administrative materials and 74 more applications are under the review,” Trakalo said.
The speaker of the National police explained how the law enforcers should act when they receive a call about violations.
“The officer on duty, on the basis of the received information, sends the police squad to the spot. The officers carry out the corresponding check. If such information is confirmed, it is recorded, and then the investigative-operational group is sent to the place to decide qualification the offense. In case of this is an administrative offense, the police make the relevant administrative materials and send them to the court, and if it is the criminal offense - the investigators enter the relevant information into the Unified register of pre-trial investigations of Ukraine,” Trakalo added.
