On Wednesday, a joint working meeting of Ukraine’s National Police authorities and representatives of the British Embassy in Ukraine was held, during which the parties discussed priority issues and further work directions on combating organized crime. This is reported by the press center of the National Police.
According to the chairman of the National Police of Ukraine Sergey Knyazev, cooperation between law enforcement agencies of Ukraine and the UK should be prompt and effective.
In the near future, Ukrainian police will be trained in the United Kingdom.
"We are open and ready for cooperation," Knyazev noted, adding that the National Police is ready to discuss cooperation issues.
A the same time, the communications officer of the National Crime Agency of Great Britain, Patrick Torkington, noted that the main areas of interest for Britain are crimes falling under the category of organized crime.
In addition, during the meeting, the parties agreed on an exchange of experience.
"Thus, in the near future Ukraine’s National Police representatives will train in the territory of Great Britain, where they will learn from the experience of their British counterparts in the fight against organized crime," the press center reported.
As it was reported earlier 28 Russian citizens were convicted for war crimes in Donbas, according to Lutsenko. 20 high-ranking Russian officials are also suspected in military crimes.
