“44 organized crime groups were eliminated within first two months in 2014, compared with 60 within the same period of time this year. The number of uncovered gangs increased from three in 2014 to nine in 2018. 16 criminal organizations and groups, involved in the illegal drug trade (compared with seven uncovered organizations in 2014),” he said.
According to Abroskin, 60 organized crime groups were eliminated within the first two months this year.
“Seven of eliminated organizations were trans-regional, three of them – transnational, six were created on the ethnic basis. 16 of the organized crime groups were involved in the illegal drug trade, five more – in illegal arms trafficking,” Abroskin stated.
Police solved 565 crimes, committed by the organized crime groups. Besides, law enforcement agencies determined 236 individuals who acted as the members of these organizations. 73 of them are under arrest.
Earlier, Abroskin noted, that 307 members of organized crime groups appeared on the prisoner’s dock, 83 of them were organizers. Criminals are suspected of commission of more than a thousand criminal offences.
