Police detain two young people suspected in attempt on Sobolev, murder of his son

Kyiv police officers detained two young people aged 18 and 19 years suspected in the attempted murder of lawmaker of the regional council Vyacheslav Sobolev and murder of his son as National Police Head Ihor Klymenko

According to Klymenko, the law enforcers found the weapon from which the murder was committed and established from which building the shooting took place.

“As we established the trajectory of the bullet, we could decide, approximately, from which building the shooting was carried out and then we found the perpetrators of this crime,” the National Police Head noted.

Besides, Head of Kyiv National Police Andriy Kryshchenko reported that police detained young people aged 18 and 19 years.

Earlier it was reported that two suspects in the attempted murder of Kyiv regional council lawmaker Vyacheslav Sobolev and murder of his son.

The media reports indicate that the attackers are two young men in their twenties. Some reports say the men served with the Right Sector, the nationalist organization that helped the Ukrainian army repel Russian aggression in Ukraine.

Earlier, a three-year old child was shot dead, when a Range Rover was attacked in Kyiv downtown. Vyacheslav Sobolev, the deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council and a restaurant owner was driving the car under fire.

The shooting occurred on Tolstova street in downtown Kyiv. Vyacheslav Sobolev personally said that in his commentary to TSN.

The man also added that his son was shot dead in a shooting. Sobolev reported no other details.
