The police detained two crime bosses, "underbosses", one of whom is on the sanctions list of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Both were informed of suspicion, including for the establishment and spread of criminal influence. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The police detained the "crime boss" from Cherkasy back in March this year when he was receiving the money he demanded from a citizen. The police investigatorof the Strategic Investigation Department in Cherkasy region received evidence of the malefactor's involvement in establishing and spreading criminal influence in the city and region. In particular, it was found that he solved issues in the criminal environment, was engaged in the redistribution of illegally obtained funds and controlled the supply of prohibited items to local institutions for serving sentences, "the message says.

He was informed of the suspicion.

The police also noted that the so-called "underboss" of one of the departments of Kherson jail is serving a sentence there for committing grave crimes, including intentional homicide. "It is known that he organized an illegal channel for the supply of drugs to institutions.He was busted for this by the police in April of this year. Investigators of the Strategic Investigation Department in Kherson region received evidence that the "underboss" was forcing the so-called "underworld traditions" on other dependents of the pre-trial detention center, exercised control "common fund" and maintained contacts with regional criminal elements."

He was also pressed charges.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the imposition of personal special economic and other sanctions upon the decision of the NSDC from May 14. The sanctions were imposed on 557 "thieves in law" known in the world, and 111 crime bosses.
