Kyiv police detained thirty people involved in the riots in the building of Svyatoshynsky District Court of Kyiv. This was reported by Kyiv police chief Andriy Krishchenko on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
Law enforcers qualify actions of Kohanivsky’s supporters under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Police dismantle barricades, which yesterday the protesters built in court.
"At the moment, the situation is calm. People who blocked the court at night continued to do this today. They threatened to again disrupt the meeting on the election of a preventive measure to Kohanivsky, so the police units were alerted. The courtroom was unblocked, 30 people were detained, they are taken to Shevchenko police department, where everyone will be given a legal assessment of their actions whrn they blocked and resisted police officers, "the police chief said.
He specified that at present the police qualify the actions of the offenders under two articles of the Criminal Code: damage to property and hooliganism committed by a group of people.
The editor-in-chief of the Country agency Ihor Guzhva on the page in Facebook reported that police detained journalist Kyrylo Malyshev. According to Guzhva, he was taken to the Shevchenko police department, despite the fact that he had a journalistic certificate.
Also social networks report that police detained the wife of Kohanivsky Kateryna.
A fight occurred in Svyatoshynsky court at the beginning of the hearing of Kohanivsky case.
Kohanivsky himself said that the police tried to storm the hall several times and eventually detained almost all of his supporters. In hall there were 30 or 40 people.
"We had certain agreements - we will simply sit, we agreed that we will sit until nine o'clock, there will be a trial, several times there were assaults, three times we stopped them, the fourth time we could not do it. There was a fight. Some of them are barely breathing in police vans, "Kohanivsky said.
As it was repoted earlier law enforcement officers detained the commander of the OUN volunteer battalion Mykola Kohanivsky this Friday, as he started shooting in Kyiv.
"I was going to a dormitory, and a certain Ruslan Kachmala got to me, started threatening and insulting me, a fight started. I had a non-lethal weapon with me. He started punching me and used gas, so I had to use the weapon. I wasn’t too badly hurt. It’s an old conflict. They are forcing the tenants of the dormitory to move. He does that blatantly, and we are defending them,” he said.
Commander of the OUN (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists) battalion Mykola Kohanivsky said that the shooting he started occurred because in the area he was at, a certain group of people forces the tenants to leave their dwelling, as he told 112.
