Poland to become mediator for Ukraine for receiving vaccines from EU

Poland will become a mediator for Ukraine during the receiving of the coronavirus vaccine from the EU, as Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmygal reported.

On December 22, the operative staff of Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry approved the plan of inoculations for the citizens.

The plan foresees four stages of the vaccination involving the following groups of people.

1) January-April 2021: people with a high risk of being infected with Covid-19, and those who perform critically important operations fighting against the pandemic. 

2) April-September 2021: people with an extremely high risk of infection and development of Covid-19 and those performing medical services.

3) June-September 2021: people with a high risk of infection and build-up of the disease and those who serve to support the national security and critical activity of governmental institutions.

4) September 2021-March 2022: people with the increased risk of being infected, and those serving to support the national security and critical activity of governmental institutions.

As of December 23, 10,136 new cases of coronavirus infection observed in Ukraine in 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 989,642 people got infected; 615,660 (+15,372 in 24 hours) recovered; 17,172 (+275) died. The majority of the confirmed cases were registered in Kyiv (1,381), Zaporizhia (887), Kyiv (809), Odesa (792) and Kharkiv (591) regions.
