Poland recalls its Ambassador from Ukraine

The acting Ambassador of Poland in Ukraine Jan Piekło will be recalled from his position, as the Polish government outlet Monitor Polski reported.

“Under the article No. 133 of the Constitution of Poland as of April 2, 1997, I recall Jan Piekło from the position of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine since January 1, 2018,” President Andrzej Duda’s regulation says.

Piekło was Poland’s Ambassador to Ukraine since October 2016. Before that, he headed the Fund of the Polish-Ukrainian cooperation PAUCI.

Earlier, the law No. 2449-VII on the diplomatic service came into force in Ukraine. It introduces the categories of diplomatic posts.
