Ukrainian poet Borys Oliynyk was buried at Baikove Cemetery in Kyiv. This was reported by the press service of Ukrainian Ministry of Culture on Facebook.
Liturgical solemn service (panikhida) was held in Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.
After that the farewell ceremony took place in the club of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Government members led by Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, people’s deputies, famous cultural figures and poet’s admirers came to pay honor to Borys Oliynyk.
"It is very indicative that so many people came to commemorate outstanding Ukrainian poet Borys Oliynyk. Today we are paying tribute to the person embodying an entire era. Despite the complicated socio-political conditions which accompanied him during his whole life, he managed too keep himself a great poet, a person who expressed his own beliefs," Yevhen Nyshchuk, Minister of Culture of Ukraine, said during the ceremony.

As it was reported, Ukrainian poet Borys Oliynyk died on April 30, at the 82nd year of his life.
