The contractor, which carried out works on the construction of the Podilskyi bridge over the Dnipro River in Kyiv, evaded taxes in the amount of over $340,000. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
“The director of a private enterprise, which commissioned a general contractor to build the Podilskyi bridge over the Dnipro River in Kyiv (part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), was reported to be suspected of tax evasion in especially large amounts,” the statement reads.
According to the materials of investigation, the official of the enterprise, which carried out work on the specified object in 2020, reflected in the accounting and tax reporting financial and economic transactions with enterprises with signs of fictitiousness to perform subcontracted work.
These actions allowed the company to evade taxes amounting to more than $340,000, which is a particularly large amount.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway.
As it was reported earlier, in Sumy, an official put the stadium up for public sale and independently determined the cost of the facility without a specialist. Thus, the stadium was sold 50 times lower than the market value, which caused losses of $14.4 million.
