"Platinum Lion" exercise concluded in Bulgaria

Exercise Platinum Lion was completed. The course had multiple training operations, took place in Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria, December 12 to 21, 2016, with the aim of improving interoperability and tactical strength amongst NATO partners.

"Platinum Lion 2016" exercise was held within the "Black Sea rotational force 16.1" at the " Novo Selo" training base.

The representatives of the Bulgarian Army, US Marine Corps, the Armed Forces of Romania, Moldova, Serbia and Albania participated in the training. Ukraine was properly represented by the best among the best - 1 separate battalion of marines, 36th separate brigade of marines of the Naval Forces of Ukraine.

"Training took place in a friendly atmosphere of cooperation and exchange of experience. A big thanks to US Marine Corps instructors for providing quality training, instruction and comprehensive support. Also a big thanks to the Bulgarian Armed Forces for their hospitality and well spent time," Sergiy Rudenko, the commander of the 1st platoon landing assault company of the 1st independent battalion of marines shared his impressions.

Offensive and defensive operations were conducted during the military exercises as well as firing with small arms, combat medic course and a lot more.

According to a soldier of the first military battalion - Alexander Roman, everything that happened during exercises in Bulgaria is their everyday life.

"We are doing all this every day in the battalion, tactical, military, fire training and a number of other activities. The only difference is that now it's happening internationally with foreign counterparts."

After the training the organizers, US Marine Corps, handed hammer of Warrior to Ukrainian marines - a symbol of male strength and courage for professionalism, support and impeccable hard work.
