Photo exhibition dedicated to Amina Okueva opened in Kyiv

The exhibition of the photos in the honor of Amina Okueva, the perished veteran of the Donbas Conflict was opened in Ukrainian house, Kyiv as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.

Oleksandr Turchynov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Ihor Mosiychuk, the MP and Arsen Avakov, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine spoke at the opening of the exhibition.

‘Amina is bright and smiling as she always was. There was an atmosphere of the pleasant light around her even at the most difficult circumstances. Amina and Adam got in a really difficult situation, they were on the edge. They were shot formally and figuratively. They always had a choice to step back but they accepted the fight. Such people win the wars’, Avakov claimed.

As it was reported earlier Amina Okuyeva and Adam Osmayev were on their way back home, returning to Kyiv from a different region, when they were attacked by a group of unknown shooters. Adam was driving, when the attack occurred.

Okueva was born in Odesa. She joined the Euromaidan movement, siding with protesters that toppled the pro-Russian government of Viktor Yanukovych. In 2014, she joined Kyiv-2, the Interior Ministry regiment, which fought against pro-Russian mercenaries in Donbas.

The couple of Okueva and Osmaev was assaulted before. On June 1, 2017, a killer pretending to be a journalist for Le Monde tried to murder Adam Osmaev and Amina Okueva. He was inside the car with the couple and opened fire. Then, Adam Osmaev was wounded, but his wife managed to fire at the attacker four times, due to which he was successfully detained. The killer turned out to be related to Ramzan Kadyrov, the incumbent pro-Kremlin president of Chechen Republic.
