In Odesa, a few dozens of people in balaclavas armed with steel rods have seized the territory of the sanatorium Lermontovskiy, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

The witnesses say that the seizure started at around 6 am. The staff and the leadership of the sanatorium are inside. A few police officers are at the site of the incident, but for now, they haven’t taken action.

According to the information of the local media dumskaya.net, the people who seized the territory are employees of a private security firm.

“The invaders are headed by a head of a state enterprise (the rights over the sanatorium are disputed by state enterprise Ukrprofzdravnitsa and the Ministry of Justice, - 112.int), who claims they are acting according to the law. But as of today, there’s a decision in force that cancelled the transfer of the sanatorium to the Ministry of Justice. Not having the possibility to enter according to the law, the state enterprise commits a crime with the connivance of the police. The police are stalling,” the lawyer of the current leadership of the sanatorium said.

According to Dmitry Antipov, the head of the sanatorium, there are currently patients inside and the staff can’t start working because they aren’t let in.

The conflict around Lermonotvksiy started in 2011. It is situated close to the coastline in the central part of Odesa, which makes the location valuable.
