The living wage in Ukraine for able-bodied people has increased by 99 hryvnia (3,65 USD) on December 1 - up to 2,393 hryvnia (88 USD). This is evidenced by the data of the law "On the state budget for 2021."

So, the subsistence minimum per person per month for the able-bodied from December 1 is set at 2,481 hryvnia (91 USD), children under 6 years old - 2,100 hryvnia (77 USD), for children aged from 6 to 18 years old - 2 618 hryvnia (96 USD) and for those who have lost the ability to work - 1 934 hryvnia (71 USD).

The minimum wage from December 1, 2021, will be UAH 6,500 per month (240 USD), and UAH 39.12 per hour (1,44 USD).

At the same time, we note that the increase in the minimum wage and living wage from December 1 will not affect the size of those indicators that are set depending on the size of the minimum wage and the living wage as of 01.01.2021, and do not change throughout the year. These are, in particular:

  • tax social benefit;
    the maximum monthly salary to which the NSL applies;
  • daily allowance;
  • single tax rates.

However, it will affect:

  • the maximum amount of the base for calculating ERUs per month (from December 1 - 97500 UAH or 3 600 USD);
  • the maximum amount of accrued ERUs per month (from December 1 - UAH 21,450 or 790 USD);
  • the size of the minimum insurance contribution ERUs per month from the salary of employees and income of the sole proprietor (for himself), self-employed persons, and members of the farm (from December 1 - UAH 1430).

Also, an increase in the size of the living wage increases the amount of alimony; unemployment benefits; maternity benefits; allowances for children whose parents avoid paying alimony; old-age pensions.

So, from December 1, the amount of alimony will grow, the amount of which is not set in a fixed amount of money, but is tied to the subsistence minimum (PM) for a child of the corresponding age. Thus, the minimum guaranteed amount of alimony per child is:

  • up to 6 years old - UAH 1050.00 (38 USD);
    from 6 to 18 years old - 1309.00 UAH (48 USD).

The minimum size of maternity payments per day for basic workers is UAH 213.53 (9 USD). But this only applies to maternity leave, which began according to the certificate of incapacity for work in December 2021. If, in accordance with the certificate of incapacity for work, the start date of such leave fell on the period until December 2021, then the minimum benefit for the entire vacation period (even for days after December 1) is UAH 197.11 (7,6 USD).

We add that the size of the maximum and minimum pension is also tied to the subsistence minimum.

Consequently, the size of the minimum pension from December 1 will increase to UAH 1,934 (74 USD). We are talking about the minimum old-age pension, which is assigned if men have 35 years of insurance, and women have 30 years of insurance experience.

The maximum pension in Ukraine from December 1 will increase to UAH 19,340 (740 USD).

The pension for this category of citizens must be at least 40% of the minimum wage. Therefore, its size will increase to UAH 2,600 (that is, by almost 100 USD).
