An aircraft landed in Boryspil airport, carrying 123 Ukrainians on board. These are the people who could not return from Italy to Ukraine, as the latter closed its borders because of the quarantine. The press service of the Office of the President reported that on Monday.
It was SkyUp air company that organized the flight. The plane departed from Marco Polo airport in Venice.
"Passengers of two buses that previously stuck on Italy-Slovenia border, and those who wanted to leave Italy returned to Kyiv with a special flight on 22.23. All the evacuated are Ukrainian citizens - except for two people who have a residence permission in Ukraine, and, according to the Cabinet's decree, can enter the country", reads the message.
Prior to the boarding in Italy, all passengers were examined for possible signs of a disease. Only healthy people were allowed to board, the Italian side reported.
"There were doctors of the Centre for the Medicine of Disasters who carried express tests for coronavirus and contact-free thermometers. Doctors observed health conditions of passengers during the flight", the message said.
Al the evacuated signed the agreement, saying yes to a voluntary self-isolation after returning to Ukraine within the 14 days-long period. Breaking the quarantine results in responsibility.
