Ukrainian law enforcers detained the woman who took part in the criminal schemes related to gas embezzlement, as the press office of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) informs.

“The alleged member of the gas embezzlement scheme produced within the agreements about cooperation with the PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya was detained in Boryspil airport on July 25. The criminal organization was hidden from the investigation and declared wanted in August 2016,” the message reads.

As it is reported, the woman is suspected in committing criminal offence under several Criminal Code articles, such as creating of the criminal organization; companion in crime; commission of a crime by a collusive group of persons, a group of persons, organized group or criminal organization and others.

“Now the application about the appliance of restrictive measures is submitted by the detectives of NABU under the leadership of SAPO relating to the suspected,” the press office noted.

We recall that Oleksandr Onyshchenko is suspected in the illegal embezzlement of funds through the creation of "gas scheme". According to preliminary data, the revealed scheme inflicted more than $100 million of damage to the state. Verkhovna Rada deprived Onyshchenko of his immunity on July 5 and allowed his arrest. MP has fled to Great Britain afterwards.
