Ex-Mayor of Konotop and a parliamentary candidate Artem Semenikhin was attacked in Sumy region. Law enforcers opened criminal proceedings. This was reported by the press service of the National Police in Sumy region.

The man was returning home at night on June 27 when he was attacked and beaten by the unknown. The ambulance took the man, who had numerous injuries and now he is in intensive care room.

It is known that Artem Semenikhin filed documents to Central Election Commission as self-nominated candidate in a single-mandate constituency №160.

Law enforcers opened a criminal case on attempted murder.

The press service of Svoboda Political Party reported that Semenikhin was attacked near his house. The doctors diagnosed brain injury.

As it was reported earlier, the candidates from Kyiv's single-mandate constituencies registered. The nomination of candidates for the Verkhovna Rada MPs started on May 24, and will continued until June 20.
