On February 19, the Ukrainian Parliament will hold a special session timed to the fifth anniversary of the Russian aggression in Ukraine. Andriy Parubiy, the Parliamentary Speaker said this during the conciliatory board on February 4.

'The session, slated for February 19 is timed to the fifth anniversary of the Russian aggression. This session is not foreseen in our calendar plans, but whoever stays in Kyiv at this time, all the factions... I'm asking you to join it', Parubiy said.

According to him, it will be an especially important view, 'especially in the foreign dimension'.

In autumn 2015, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine set February 20, 2014 as the official date of the beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea. Then, as the law on re-integration of Donbas was being passed, the MPs also set this date as the beginning of the occupation of part of Ukraine's territory.

As of December 31, 2018, the UN stated that the number of victims of Donbas conflict reached from 40,000 to 43,000 people, 25-26 percent of those lost their lives in the hostilities.
