Bill No. 9407 on declaring December 15 the Day of Ukraine’s spiritual unity was registered in the Parliament. Sergiy Mishchenko, non-affiliated people’s deputy, is the author of the document.

The bill provides amendments to the Ukrainian Labour Code. In particular, it proposes to declare December 15 the Day of Ukraine’s spiritual unity and declaring it a day off.

Earlier, Epifaniy, the Metropolite of Kyiv and All Ukraine, the primate of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, said that Onufriy, the Metropolitan of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate, was deprived of the status of Metropolitan of Kyiv.

As it was reported earlier, Ecumenical Patriarch and Synod confirmed illegality of annexation of Kyiv Metropolis by Moscow in 1686. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew confirmed that Tomos about autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be solemnly presented on Christmas Eve, January 6.
