The head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, Andriy Bohdan said that the decision to dissolve the Verkhovna Rada was absolutely in line with the Constitution. He said this on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel during the main political talk show “The Pulse”.

“From our point of view, the early termination of the Verkhovna Rada’s powers is absolutely in line with the Constitution, and most of the faction heads present at the consultations noted that. Indeed, some faction leaders and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada consider the dissolution process and the announcement of early elections legally unclear. However, from the point of view of the current law, we do not see any problems, and, in fact, all disputes regarding this — whether it was constitutional or not — have ended with everyone at the consultations agreeing to go on election,” Bohdan said.

According to him, the heads of factions also agreed on a common position to consider tomorrow on May 22 a draft law on changing the electoral system.

“If tomorrow these amendments to the law are considered, it will be an additional legitimization of our existing Ukrainian parliament by all factions,” added the administration head.

As it was reported earlier, Andriy Bohdan chairs Administration of President of Ukraine, according to the first appointments by the new president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
