In Ukraine, the peak of coronavirus incidence is expected in late October - early November. During this period, more than 50,000 Ukrainians can be hospitalized. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov during a briefing.
"We predict the peak of the coronavirus pandemic at the end of this month, it is somewhere from 20-25-30 to 4-5 next month," Danilov said.
According to him, during the peak period of the pandemic, 52,000 Ukrainians can be hospitalized, and this will become a challenge for the health care system of Ukraine.
As we reported earlier, on Monday, October 18, four Ukrainian regions will switch from the yellow quarantine zone to the red one.
The restrictions typical for red quarantine zone will be introduced in Zaporizhya, Odesa, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Also, the red quarantine zone is imposed in Kherson region. The government commission for emergencies made the respective decision. Cafes, restaurants, theaters and cinema theaters, markets and fitness centers are closed. Mass events are banned. However, the restriction will be lifted if 100% of the responsible staff are vaccinated.
