Pre-election delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) terminates its work in Ukraine ahead of the schedule after the Spokesperson of Ukraine’s Parliament Andriy Parubiy withdrew the invitation to the representatives of the organization to observe the snap elections to Verkhovna Rada, as PACE press office reported.

“A delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) was in Kyiv on 2 and 3 July 2019 to assess the pre-electoral climate ahead of the early parliamentary elections in Ukraine, scheduled for 21 July,” the message reads.

PACE representatives met with the leaders and representatives of the parties which take part in the elections; public persons and journalists, representatives of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

“As a result of this decision, the pre-electoral delegation has decided to cease its activity prematurely,” the press office informed.
