Owners of foreign registered cars block checkpoint on Ukraine-Belarus border

Traffic was blocked on Chernihiv-Novi Yarylovychi route due to the protest of the owners of cars with foreign registration, as the TV presenter said on air of 112 Ukraine.

The queues of vehicles appeared before the Belarusian checkpoint Novaja Huta when leaving the country, and before the Novi Yarylovychi checkpoint when entering Belarus.

According to BelarusPartisan news agency, border checkpoints Novaja Huta-Novi Yarylovychi were blocked from the Ukrainian side.

Some passengers had to cross the border on foot and get to the city on their own.

The press office of Ukraine’s Border Guard Service informed 112 Ukraine that now, the checkpoint is working in a usual mode.

As it was reported earlier, the owners of the cars with foreign license plates intended to carry out an All-Ukrainian Disobedience Action on November 20.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Parliament adopted a law on a new method of calculation of excise tax rate for foreign cars and higher fines for violation of customs legislation.
