Over 4 million Ukrainian citizens have received biometric passports. This was reported by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko at the open-air concert at European Square on the occasion of visa-free regime implementation, which was broadcast by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"As the State Migration Service told me, over 4 million citizens have received biometric passports. This refutes the allegation that Ukrainians do not need it. 10% of Ukrainian people have them and they are necessary to use visa-free regime. The number of those willing to get it is not decreasing," Poroshenko announced.
At the same time, president specified that there is no need to worry about lines for biometric passports, there will be enough for everybody.
"I want to calm everyone and ask not to worry. I emphasize — there will be enough documents for all and documents will be issued after June 11," Poroshenko said.
As it was reported, Ukrainian people can take advantage of visa-free regime and travel without difficulty through Europe starting from today.
