Health Minister Viktor Lyashko said that Ukraine would receive more than two million coronavirus Pfizer vaccines this week. This was stated in his interview on the Freedom of Speech program on the ICTV channel on November 8.
"Today we have imported almost 31 million doses of the vaccine to Ukraine. 1.4 million doses of Pfizer and 3 million Moderna arrived this weekend. We expect another 1 million Pfizer this week, Tuesday-Wednesday, and another 1.5 million Pfizer by the end of the week," Lyashko said.
He stressed that Ukraine has enough vaccine to immunize and protect the population from Covid-19.
As it was reported, on November 7, UNICEF has delivered to Ukraine 2,930,300 doses of mRNA vaccine against Covid-19 manufactured by Moderna. Ukraine receives vaccines under the COVAX Facility free of charge.
Meanwhile, a new batch of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine was delivered to Ukraine this weekend. The new batch was purchased for the state budget funds. The total number of vaccines in the delivered batch is 1,400,000 doses.
In the first week of November, more than 1.6 million coronavirus vaccinations were given in Ukraine. During the day on November 7, 85,083 people in Ukraine were vaccinated against Covid-19. 51,603 people received one dose, 33,480 people were fully immunized.
