Law enforcement officials recorded more than a thousand telephone connections with Russian subscribers in the vicinity of the murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet. This was reported by the Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov during the briefing on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“1 193 calls with Russian subscribers were registered upon monitoring telephone connections in the vicinity of the crime scene at the approximate time of the incident. The activation of a part of these subscribers clashes as for the signals of the previous informational activity during the religious Procession of Ukrainian Orthodox Church (of Moscow Patriarchate) in July 2016,” he reported.
During this period under the pretext of the meeting of one of the nontraditional churches, a large group of Russian citizens came to Kyiv, according to him.
“The mobile phone connections of this group were recorded near the place of residence and work of Pavlo Sheremet several days before the incident and near place of the explosion in the morning on July 20,”Avakov said.
After the murder of the journalist these connections were localized and came to naught.
Earlier it was reported that the order to kill Sheremet may have come from Russian Federation, according to Avakov. It is supposed that the murder was political order.
